Viva Eid is a distinguished Lebanese artist, educator, and researcher with over 15 years of experience in the international art scene. Her work transcends traditional boundaries, exploring complex themes such as feminism, surrealism, and Middle Eastern cultural identity. Throughout her career, Viva has consistently demonstrated an exceptional commitment to her craft, producing thought-provoking artworks that have earned her a respected place in the art world.
Viva's academic journey is as impressive as her artistic achievements. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the Doctoral School of Literature, Humanities & Social Sciences in Lebanon, where her research focuses on the feminist controversy in surrealism, particularly within Middle Eastern art. Her dissertation, titled "The Feminist Controversy in Surrealism: Middle Eastern Art Experiences 1950-2000, Artist Mona Hatoum in Lebanon as a Model", is a groundbreaking study that delves into the intersection of gender, culture, and art.
She holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Lebanese University of Fine Arts (2014-2017) and a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the same institution (2003-2007). Her academic credentials are further enhanced by several certifications, including Art Therapy from the International Academy for Building Capacity and Modern Nonviolent Education and Positive Conflict Management from the Academic University College for Non-Violence & Human Rights.
Her work as an artist is characterized by its depth, innovation, and emotional resonance. She has been an active, exhibiting artist for over 15 years, showcasing her work in prestigious galleries and art exhibitions around the world. Her solo exhibitions include "Scars of the Past" in Naples, Italy (2022), "Quiet Dust" at Gallery Exode in Lebanon (2022), "Woman Behind Bars" at the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna, Austria (2019), and "Rebirth" at the Lebanese University of Fine Arts (2016). Each of these exhibitions reflects her ability to convey complex narratives through her art, making her a powerful voice in the contemporary art scene.
She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including "6ème Salon des Arts Visuels" in Ghosta, Lebanon (2022), "Mashrou' Proletkult" at the American University of Beirut (2016), and "7th Arab-Austrian Economic Forum & Exhibition" at City Hall in Vienna, Austria (2014). Her participation in these events highlights her commitment to engaging with the broader artistic community and contributing to global conversations through her work.

In 2022, Viva received an award from the Assadakah Foundation in Rome, Italy, and a prize from the UNDP and the Embassy of Canada for her work in an art competition inspired by women's economic rights.
